What are violations and what are their types?
Violations are deviations from legal regulations governing drivers’ working time. They occur when a driver or company fails to comply with specific limits on driving time, rest periods, or breaks.
Examples of violations:
- exceeding the daily driving time,
- missing a required break,
- taking a rest period that is too short,
- failing to take the required weekly rest in due time,
- incorrect manual entries, missing data from the driver card or tachograph,
- missing mandatory documents or incorrect use of them,
- and many more.
Violations are automatically analyzed and classified by severity (e.g., minor infringement, serious infringement), according to guidelines from the European Commission.
