What is foreign pay?

Foreign pay

Foreign pay is the obligation to pay the driver – delegated from Poland to work in another EU country – a salary at least equal to that of local drivers. This is required by the Mobility Package, which introduces specific rules regarding the delegation of drivers in international road transport.

Foreign pay applies during posting periods for cabotage and cross-trade transport.

⚠️
Warning

Transport type and posting periods

Our system can automatically create posting periods as part of foreign delegation, but it is up to you to decide which of them are exempt from the foreign pay rules – i.e., they are neither cabotage nor cross-trade. A detailed description of managing posting periods can be found in the section What are posting periods?.

Where can I find foreign pay settings and rates?

Foreign pay settings are part of the driver’s contract and are available both during its creation and later during editing.

To access the foreign pay settings, open the contract form and click the Foreign pay option. After selecting it, you will see the following view:

Note

Foreign pay calculation is enabled by default!

To ensure compliance with the Mobility Package, this option is enabled by default. However, you can completely disable it or exclude selected countries from foreign pay calculation. A detailed description of managing foreign pay settings can be found here.

Where do the rates come from?

Our program uses only official sources, such as government portals of EU member states and collective labor agreements, ensuring compliance with the rates required by the Mobility Package.

Rates are updated regularly to reflect the current regulations in each country.

Disabling foreign pay calculation for a selected country

In our application, you can disable foreign pay calculation for selected countries. To do this, with the calculation option enabled, click Edit, uncheck the countries you want to exclude, and save the changes. As a result, the wage adjustment for work in these countries will not be considered during settlement.

In the example below, the foreign pay calculation for Austria has been disabled.

Other foreign pay settings

In some countries, different rates apply depending on qualifications and work experience. In our program, you can easily adjust these settings — simply select the appropriate options from the dropdown lists regarding qualifications and work experience in the pay minimum editing mode.

Note

The selection of appropriate qualification and work experience settings is your responsibility — make sure they comply with the requirements of the respective country.

Below is an example with the work experience option expanded for Belgium:
